IHC’s Justice Shoukat Aziz conducted the hearing of the case against the demolition of cemetery on Ninth Avenue’s green belt.
The petitioners argued that the cemetery
had many graves of their beloved relatives and they could allow it to
be demolished for metro bus project.
Aziz said in his remarks that work on
Metro Bus project should be stopped immediately as he can’t allow the
destruction of a cemetery.
The cemetery on Ninth Avenue’s green
belt is situated in between Metro Bus project’s path and in order to
complete the project, the cemetery is needed to be demolished.
