President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have said in their messages on Kashmir Black Day that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
President Zardari said that October 27, 1947, is the darkest day in the history of Kashmir, the occupation of Srinagar by Indian forces was a clear violation of international law, and India’s actions on August 5, 2019 are illegal and immoral.

He said that collective punishments, destruction of property and military siege on Kashmiris are unacceptable, the international community should hold India accountable for human rights violations.
The President further said that peace in South Asia depends on a just resolution of the Kashmir issue, and will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said in his message on Black Day that every year October 27 reminds us of a dark day in the history of Kashmir. 78 years ago, India sent its forces to Srinagar and occupied it. India violated the right of self-determination of Kashmiris.

Shehbaz Sharif said that according to the resolutions of the United Nations, there is a need for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue. Without Kashmir, it is not possible to establish lasting peace in the subcontinent. Pakistan will continue to raise the voice of Kashmiris at the global level. 240 million Pakistanis are with the Kashmiri people.
